Music Field Trip

Dear Parents and Guardians,

This holiday season, the middle school music students at Dora Moore will be going on a field trip to visit the Veterans at Fitzsimons Retirement home. This field trip will take place on Friday, December 7. Students will leave school around 9:15am and will return before noon.

Since the residents in this community are all veterans, we are performing songs that both celebrate their service to our country and the holiday season. If you would like to watch this performance, the presentation will begin at 10am at Fitzsimons (1919 Quentin St. Aurora, CO 80045). I will also be in need of two chaperones to accompany us on this trip. If you are interested, please send an email to Dorothy_pino@dpsk12.org.

Students will be asked to wear Dora Moore Shirts with black pants for this performance. If this will be a problem for your student, please let me know.

Please sign the permission slip below and return it to Miss Pino by Friday, November 30. Permission slips that are not received on time will result in students missing this opportunity to perform on this field trip.

My student __________________________ has my permission to go on this field trip and ride the school bus to the Fitzsimons Retirement Home for Veterans. My student agrees to bring all required materials, including their music, instruments, and correct attire on December 7. My student also agrees to be respectful to the veterans at the retirement home, and one of the ways my student will show respect is by preparing well for this event.  This means students will be responsible for practicing their instruments or vocal parts at home to the best of their ability.
