Winter Concert and other events for East High

We have some upcoming events that you should know about.

We are having our Winter Concert on November 13 at 5:30pm. Every year, the instrumental department puts on a pizza dinner fundraiser at this concert. Since this concert is less formal than most, students will be allowed to wear semi-casual attire. Please avoid sporting outfits/uniforms, hole-y jeans, and skimpy tops. Students will need to arrive 30 minutes before their group performs. My classes will be the last three groups to perform.There will be rosters for students to initial and time stamp when they arrive. I would encourage you to see what else is happening in the musical community at East and enjoy a pizza dinner.

The instrumental department, under the leadership of Keith Oxman, has put together a CD project for the past several years. If your student is interested in composing a song/piece, performing a solo on their instrument, or getting a group together to perform, please contact me at dorothypino@gmail.com. All my classes will be going to the CEC recording studio on December 5th.

I am taking my students on a field trip on December 4th in the morning. We are going to the Veterans Retirement Home at Fitzsimmons. A permission slip will be sent out soon.

We have a Pops Concert in the works for the tentative date of January 21st. We are hoping to collaborate with the drama department to make this a theatrical event since we will be playing movie music. More information on this to come.
