- 1st/2nd ending - a shorthand way to repeat a section of music with an alternate ending.

- dynamics - volume in music, forte(loud), piano (quiet, soft), mp (medium soft), mf (medium loud
- multiple measures of rest - a thick, black bar with a number written above that tells you how many measures to count of rest before continuing to play
- Harmony - more than one note playing at the same time to produce a complementing sound.
- Melody - a single line of music, the tune you can sing
- Counter Melody - another line of music that complements the main line; it should be in the background with the other harmonies.
- Major Scale - WWHWWWH - whole steps and half steps; in ascending order and descending order
- arpeggio - broken chord (skip instead of step)
- chord - more than one note played at the same time; triad - 1,3,5
